Ok, the schedule says it's my turn to host HOST. Who wants to come and beat a good racer? Of course that's not me because I couldn't race my way out of a wet paper bag but I bet someone will show that is good. I am working Friday night so I won't be home until close to 8AM Saturday. I'll have everything set up on Friday so it'll be ready to go first thing in the morning. I hope it doesn't snow again!

Time to have a bit of a break in day for the new WRP. I'll be opening up on Saturday Dec 26th for those that are available to try out the new wood track. Probably have the fire burning from 9am to 8 pm or so depending on when folks are available to show up to try out those new Christmas toys.

The weatherman predicted snow, rain and sleet. But that did not stop seven teams from fielding cars for the HOST Race at Old Stage Raceway. The classes raced were Scalextric sidewinders and Historic cars. First up was the qualifying for the scaley sidewinders. The qualifying was done on the white lane.

Old Stage Raceway will be hosting the HOST Race this Saturday 11/5/09. The Rotation is B Historic/SSS. Doors will open at 8:00am racing starts at 10:00am. Who's coming to do battle with the Squeezes? Another rainy cold Saturday night in New Hampshire brought five racers to the Sick Puppy raceway in Weare. Andy and Matt drove up from the Southwest, Dinh from down Nashua way and Cliff from where he lives. Rick (aka Itchy) was already there with the stove warmed up and the track ready to go. After some warmup laps and some headscratching on how to set up the computer since Dickie had left the state, we finally got to racing.

You can arrive after 5pm, with the racing starting around 7...

I don't know what's on the menu for dinner. I should probably remind him he has to provide that, huh? But I would guess he'll have cold cuts and bread rolls or something along that line.

I've been looking at what might need to be updated in the rules. There's lots of new cars out and I can't seem to keep track of them all or buy them for that matter. So what I'm looking at mostly is what cars might fit in the current classes. A few I was looking at was the SCX nascars and how they might fit in Stockcar class or even the Carrera COT. Also was looking at changing the SSS sidewinder class to allow a few Flys in. Historic and GT are pretty stable....

6 brave souls got up early enough to make the HOST race at Deer Meadow Race park last Saturday morning. After a good amount of practice we started the qualifying round for the front motored cars.

Looks like the racing comes to Deer Meadow Race Park this Saturday the 24th, racing those pesky front motored cars and the ultra fast GTs. This will be a morning race so doors will open at 8 and racing begins at 10. How many brave souls will travel all the way to Webster for this exciting day of racing??

Well, there were 7 racers who dared to travel to Peterborough on Saturday night to try to wrestle the HOST trophy away from the track owner. There were seasoned veterans as well as up and coming young drivers! There were Wildmen and Saints, a Crusher, Xrayman, and a Drailer too! They all drove long distances in foul weather just for a chance to take home the covented HOST trophy that would signify that they were the best racer that night! Could anyone do it?...

Ok, you guys have to forgive me. I haven't been following slot car development for sometime. :-)

I noticed for the SSS class the Ferrari F430 with "black" windows is not allowed. Is that because they don't have an interior? Reason I ask, I was researching other cars listed (911 and 997) and there are black window versions of those as well. I am really looking just to save some money and these versions tend to be cheaper... especially because I need to add a...

Boy oh boy! What a great night of racing!

And we did have a great turnout too, with 8 racers arriving to run on the 3 lane Ironwood Raceway Park for the 1st time here in the Dungeon. Some of us had run on it a few years back when Mr McMannix hosted a NEC challenge race, but since then Dick had expanded it, and that layout is what we ran on...

On September 12th, the new (old) Ironwood Park Raceway will be open to welcome HOST racers.
Doors will open at 5pm, with racing planned to start around 7. Not sure what's on the menu for food, but rest assure it will be edible...
