The first event at Goodwood in Brentwood had eight teams in
the pits all hoping to win this prestigious first event. We had another first time racer with us named TJ. TJ is another former stock car racer in the area
that gave the "little" race cars a try. TJ did a great job racing with us and we all hope he joins us again real soon. Bruce (not the winged guy)
returned for another race. Hopefully Bruce will make several more before he returns to Florida. This weeks report may lack some of the details normally
mentioned as we had printer issues so the information I left with is limited. First cars on the track were the NC-1 Classics. Guytano took full advantage of
finally getting to race on his own track by winning all four of his heats as that white Cobra was untouchable in the early going. Bruce and Marc also had a
good early round as they tied for second in points after their heats. Rick and Steve both were firmly entrenched in the middle with James, Dickie, and TJ
bringing up the rear. Dickie got off to an unusually poor start, he DNF'd the first two heats only doing 7 laps total. Fast lap in the first round went
to Guytano with a 5.921. Nobody was even close to matching that in the early going. Second round was more of the same with Guytano dominating this class with
4 more heat wins just blowing by the competition. Rick, Dickie, Marc, and Bruce all battled each other trying to keep Guytano from completing running away
with this event. Fast lap in this round again with Guytano with a 5.927. Guytano was in the 5.9's in all four lanes.

The Modern Lemans cars were next which really picked up the pace. Although Guytano was off to a sizeable lead, there was still a lot of racing to go. Steve
lead all in the first round with three wins and a second with Marc, Guytano, and Rick just four points behind. Bruce and Dickie were close in the middle with
James and TJ struggling to get our of the single digits. Fast lap in this round went to Rick with a 5.022. With one round to go, it was looking like Guytano
would not be caught as no other racers were able to break out with the cars being so close in speed and everyone driving so well. While some were hoping
Guytano may slow down, it just didn't happen as he reeled off three more heat wins and a second. Rick and Dickie came alive some but way too little too
late to challenge Guytano. Steve was just a couple points behind Rick and Dickie in this round with Marc and Bruce now in the single digit range. Fast lap in
this round again went to Rick who found the 4.9's with a 4.909.

No suspense tonight while the points were tallied (thankfully Kevin wasn't there to add them, we'd still not know for sure who won). Congratulations
to Guytano with a dominating win on his new track. He was untouchable with the NC-1's and very fast with the Lemans cars. This was Guytano's second
win in 08 as he was victorious back in January at Old Stage Raceway.

All the racers favorable impressed with what Guytano has done to this facility. New paint on the walls and floors, new lights (installed by Steve), new tables
and rugs. All this made for a very enjoyable night of racing with plenty of room for everyone. The track also provided some tasty pizza and chocolate chip
cookies. Next week the tour heads back up North to Deer Meadow Race Park with the NC-1's making another appearance racing on the road course and the
Classic NASCAR's running on the oval. Should be a good race. Reminder that this months street stock event is coming up on May 17 at Deer Meadow. Note
the starting time looks to be an hour earlier than usual. Any event at Deer Meadow is a good time.
