Ok, here goes...the answer to Brian's question...

Technically, with the way the rules are written, the use of styrene to set the axle height isn't allowed. The spirit of the rules was written so as to bring the cars closer together in terms of performance.
But we also acknowledge that there were some Slot.It chassis produced that were not quite "perfect". Some chassis were produced that had the front wheels up in the air, had spacers that were tight against the axle so it wouldn't spin, and some also allowed the front tires to rub on the body.
So with these issues in mind, we will be allowing the use of styrene to set the axle height so that the above mentioned problems can be dealt with.
Just so everyone understands though, no modifications can be done to the chassis to install these styrene "axle securers". All you are allowed to do is to glue the styrene to the inside of the existing upright at the height you want where the axle goes through. You are allowed to remove the two removable ride height blocks that Slot.It provides with these cars.
The best way that I know of to set the front axle height is to place the assembled chassis (motorpod and all), with the front wheels and tires installed, the two styrene pieces loose inside of the uprights, and the two removable blocks removed, on a set-up block. On the set-up block, the guide will be what is holding up the front of the car, so you can go ahead and glue the styrene pieces at this height, or you may raise or lower the axle height to your preferred height. To raise the axle height, simply place equal amounts of small pieces of paper under each tire. To lower the axle, again using small pieces of paper, place equal amounts under each side of the guide blade. Before glueing, I find it better to oil the axle where it comes through the styrene. This helps keep the axle from getting glued to the styrene, or if the axle does get glued, makes it easier to break loose again. Glue both the front and rear edges of the styrene to the chassis . Then when these are cured, remove the axle and add glue along the top edge (and along the bottom if you can). After that cures, run the axle through a few times and check for any binding. I use a small round file to open it back again if I have too.

So again... the use of styrene to set the axle height is allowed, but you cannot modify the chassis in order to mount them. Just simply glue the pieces to the inside of the uprights.
